Donterrious Porter: A Man and his Dream
Have you ever wondered what it is really like to play in the NFL? Every NFL fan dreamsaboutit, but very few actually do it. So the majority have very little idea about how hard it truly is. The blood, sweat, and tears that go into it. The dedication one must possess just to even get a shot is impressive. DB/KR Donterrious Porter, an 2012 undrafted player out of Luther College is one such player.
Luther College is a small Evangelical Lutheran college in Decorah, Iowa. With a student body of about 2500, it’s small enough to generally be off of the NFL’s radar. But that did not stop Donterrious. He had a goal, and he was determined to achieve it.
So over the next few weeks, Donterrious has agreed to give us an inside view of what it is like trying to break into the NFL. He’ll tell us what it is like to compete at the regional combines…..to sit in on the interviews with various teamsscoutingfor the hidden free agent gem. He’ll give you an inside view of just how hard itis, and how muchworkhe has put into reaching his goal.Is Donterrious one of those hidden gems? I don’t know. But I do know he is closer to his dream than 99% of us NFL fans.

Very cool. Can’t wait to hear about Donterrious’s experiences and will be pulling for him to get into camp with a team.
I greatly appreciate Donterrious taking the time to talk with fans and I wish more players would give us this kind of access and information.
If I found the right information about him, Donterrious is a true underdog worth rooting for. 5’8″, 190 lbs, and previously clocked at 4.6 to 4.5 in the 40. I would love to hear if he’s managed to drop his 40 time into the 4.4s.
If I could ask him questions, some would include:
1. What has he been up to since last training camp? Did he play in the CFL or another league? Would he consider playing in one of those leagues if he doesn’t make it onto an NFL roster this year?
2. What’s his workout regime?
3. Does he have a favorite NFL team?
4. What would he say are his greatest strengths? What is he working hardest to improve?
