And so begins the most important off-season in franchise history
For the fans of the Miami Dolphins, 4pm could not get here fast enough. And when it did, it started with a BANG!!
Right out of the gate, Miami signs receiver Mike Wallace to a 5 year deal worth around $60 million. But the cap hit for this year is only around $6 million.
Miami followed it up by resigning safety Chris Clemons to a one year deal. No terms have yet to be disclosed.
About an hour later, reports are coming in that Miami has reached a deal with former Ravens LB Dannell Ellerbe, an undrafted player in 2009 out of Georgia. Against the 49ers in this year’s Superbowl, Ellerbe had 9 tackles and blitzed QB Colin Kaepernick into an incomplete pass on 4th down to preserve the Ravens 34-31 lead.
During the regular season, Ellerbe had 92 tackles, 4.5 sacks and a forced fumble. The deal is reported 5 years $35 million. What does this mean for Karlos Dansby? Guess we will see.
