What would you do if you were this man?

Manyofthe visitors to the website and message board have been posting about what the Miami Dolphins should be doing during free agency and the NFL draft. We decided to make a contest out of it, with visitors (who is registered) posting their plan if they were the GM.

Then everyone (who is registered) is allowed to vote on which GM plan they like the most.

So far, we have had several great entries, but we want more!! Well here is your chance. Tell us what you would do if you were the GM of our favorite team, the Miami Dolphins.

  • 1st round – Pass rushing DE or LB or trade down pick up a tight end and additional picks
    2nd round – a pair of WR’s some combo of: Austin/Woods/Patton/Wheaton
    3rd round – a pair of DB’s
4th round – DE or LB (depending on what we did in the first or a TE)
    5th round – OL
7th round – Safety and backup LB

  • My plan is what I think is the best idea if I were the GM:
Get rid of Brain Hartline, Reggie Bush, Karlos Dansby (Not worth 9 Mil a year),Sean Smith, Davone Bess
Next thing sign Wallace, Cromartie,Joshua Cribs,Dustin Keller, Calivin Pace, Micheal Turner.
    Draft– 1st pick a pass rusher, 2nd right tackle,2nd cornerback, 3rd reciver, 4th defensive tackle,5th tight end,6th guard, 7th cornerback/ free safety.
    Franchise Randy Starks, Resign Fasano.
With that we will have an excellent line up and every one mentioned can be signed with money left over for the draft picks that they will aquire. The Fins are already over the cap by 45 Million by letting go of whom I mentioned that will add about twenty to thirty Million to that cap amount with the assumption Smith will want about 8 Mill a year and Hartline about 5 mil a year.
That my friends is how you fix the Fins!
What does anybody think of my setup?

  • I still like building from the inside out. Draft a tackle first, since that’s where the depth is (unless somehow Milliner falls to us at 12). Draft a pass rusher early, and get some CB help. WRs take time to develop. Out of our top 5 picks, one should be a developmental WR.

Wallace and Jennings would be great additions, but not at the expense of our entire budget. Both appear to want to break the bank. I’d take whichever one I could reasonably sign.

TE is a huge need to be addressed in free agency and/or the draft. I like Reed because he’s faced tough competition and done well, has great speed and hands.

Not necessarily a huge need, but if Matt Elam could fall to us with our second round 2, pick, he’d be a huge addition. Great hitter and ball hawk.
